The Science (briefly)
Weatherproof outdoor car covers need to protect against condensation – not just humidity. Condensation is the main threat when storing your vehicle outside. When warmer air comes in contact with colder air such as on metal panels and glass on cars it forms condensation (moisture). This happens if there are rapid changes in temperature. By constantly moving air, In the GarageTM creates a stable environment and perfect capsule and car cocoon system with limited changes in temperature. This reduces the opportunity for condensation to occur and keeps your vehicle dryer.
Please note that in very damp weather conditions, the airflow may not be sufficient to completely avoid condensation. In high humidity and cold weather, moisture capacity in the air is reduced and the dew point is higher. When the air temperature reaches or dips below the dew point, airborne water vaper will form dew when it comes in contact with a colder surface – such as the walls or ceiling of the Car Shield. The best ways to counter this are to:
- Open the Car Shield regularly to increase air flow in case of high humidity and cold weather. Ventilation is key.
- Wipe down the ceiling and the walls
- Keep the temperature inside and outside the Car Shield as stable as possible. Avoid warming the air in the Car Shield as that will increase the amount of humidity the air can hold.

(we are referring to classic cars here). It is a good question with lots of possible variables like condition, upkeep, provenance, history, numbers produced, optional equipment, etc…

I was going to get a carcoon, but after looking at recent buyer experiences with significant delays in dispatch and poor communication I searched on and found this brand. Ordered on a Tuesday and the car is now tucked away in it on a Thursday. Very easy to setup and made of good quality reinforced PVC. I can’t see this cover collapsing under snow or in wind, I have used the 6 eyelets bonded into the top of the bubble to suspend it from my carport roof so in more favourable conditions I should be able to turn the fans off without the cover collapsing.

Have had cover for 2nd year now had it operational over winter in the Saskatchewan winter heavy snow collapses the bubble but just brush snow off. Stays very pliable in minus temps, but I don’t open it except to run vehicle once a month. Material is holding up well zipper works well fans have been running continuously for over 2 years . Normally car goes into storage but weather turned bad early so just kept in bubble all winter. It’ takes a few minutes to cover car and zip up we keep a car cover on top of car so when you slid bubble over to prevent scratches, i secure with one tie down to a pail full of gravel, cant go anywhere car sits on base. Wish they made a longer one to keep boat in out of sun. I highly recommend this product.
